Currently, there is a 50% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the Max Patch area, so we will not be hiking on the AT. Max Patch will be rescheduled for a date in July. Instead, we will do a BRP shuttle hike of 11 miles and 1,500′ elevation gain starting at the Bucksprings lodge parking area and hiking to the Chestnut Cove overview. Please RSVP victor.zona@sbcglobal.net if you plan on hiking. Meet at the Ranger Station at 8:15 for a 8:30 start. Tomorrows hike starts our Summer schedule hours. Even on the parkway, Friday is calling for temps in the 80s, so bring plenty of liquids.
