Starting at the Buck Springs over look, we will hike down the Laurel Mountain trail to a user trail down to the Slate Rock Creek. After crossing the creek we head to the Pilot Cove loop for lunch on Slate Rock. After lunch and with enough time to digest our lunch before the climb starts up the Pilot Rock trail back up to our cars. RSVP Sharon at sharonbode1@gmail.com to attend this hike. Meet at the Ranger Station around 8:15 for an 8:30 start. Bring plenty of water and don’t forget the sunscreen.

Weather: Mostly sunny skies. Hot and humid with afternoon temps reaching 91°. Light winds around 6 mph. UV index will be extremely high.
