Current weather indicates that there is around a 70-80% chance of rain and possible thunderstorms in the Max Patch area for Friday’s hike. With that in mind, we will instead do a local hike beginning and ending at the Coontree parking lot (Coontree – Perry – Clawhammer Cove – Maxwell Cove – Bennett -Coontree loop) Around 10 miles with 2,500′ elevation gain. Meet at the Coontree parking area around 8:15 for a 8:30 start. Please RSVP victor.zona@sbcglobal.net if you plan on hiking. Don’t forget to bring plenty of water.
